The blog postings below and this one indicates my Creative Gallery for Multimedia English. Throughout the entire semester, I devoted my authorship question toward Facebook. From my research, I have found how effective Facebook is to connect others along with creating (becoming the author) a message. Above is a web map, concentrating on myself as the subject, I used the web map to link our mutual friends among my other 303 classmates. It represents how Facebook is a connector to the WHOLE world. My results showed that I had a mutual friend with everyone except for two classmates. This is how I was able to create this web map. I took the class rooster, looked up everyone on Facebook, and linked each classmate toward myself. The connection is through "mutual friends". This is sample of how Facebook can connect people from different countries let alone a classroom. It's amazing how small of a world it really is by a click of a mouse!
Since Facebook does have a privacy act, it's hard to compare who others are friends with. I'm sure other classmates may have a connection with others and not just me. But because of the privacy conduct, this was not possible. If this was possible, my web map may be a "never ending web map" meaning everyone is connected with one another and there wouldn't be a stopping point (bubbles connecting with other bubbles). In order to do this, I need others to contribute.....Below is a link to interact and make your own web map. It's self explanatory but directions are available when you begin. You do need to create an account but it's free and it takes no more than three minutes. Play with it and see how far/large your map grows. It can amaze you and can create a better understanding on how Facebook is a fast-connection tool while allowing you to become the author owning your virtual world.

Since Facebook is so fast, I also designed a fast-info click among all of our classmates. In the blog postings below I inserted a link within each classmates name along with posting their profile picture to give a name to a face. (Today, we are more focused in visuals than words.) Once you click on a name below, it will take you straight to their profile page. This can help one another interact and also can provide feedback from the Facebook user. While looking each classmate on Facebook, I added everyone to be "my friend" on Facebook. This creates and makes my network bigger. Facebook's purpose is to create a virtual community. Adding my classmates, makes my virtual community bigger and better. Feel free to click on name-links below and make your virtual community larger by adding/accepting our classmates.
Thanks and hope you enjoyed my Creative Gallery
